Morden Map of Northumberland (1708)

£29.00

Map of Northumberland — Robert Morden (1708)

The very first versions of these county maps appeared in Camden’s Britannia in 1695 and were hugely popular, leading to later releases such as this.

Much of the Roman Wall (Vallum Severi) is depicted and various Roman-era regions are labelled in capital letters, albeit vaguely given the extent of historical knowledge at the time.
