Roman Altar – Framed 📜

Found at Tynemouth Priory, the altar was erected by a commander of the 4th Cohort of Lingones, a Gaulish cavalry regiment who manned the station at Wallsend. Illustration by the Newcastle antiquary John Collingwood Bruce from his magnum opus, The Roman Wall.
