New North and South Tyneside Crime and Data Map: Tyneseyed.org 👁️

21st July 2026

This new service for the region features a crime-focussed bulletin with charts, as well as a detailed map overlaid with open source data, including statistics from Northumbria Police.

More than just a crime chart, Tyneseyed.org is a wide-ranging public resource with extra layers showing:

  • Properties for sale and sold: soon to be added
  • Planning applications: pending, granted and refused
  • Live bus data
  • Roadworks: live and planned
  • Community services, including: parking, toilets, police, civic groups and places of worship
  • Food hygiene ratings

Heritage assets will be added, along with many more fascinating data sets.

Local businesses and estate agents are encouraged to submit their info to this valuable community service: https://tyneseyed.org/advertise

It’s likely that actual crime is significantly underreported by the police. We wonder what the true extent of crime in the region is, given that a lot of people drop calls because they can’t get through…

The police and the councils are of course, keen to state that crime is falling locally, but the reality is no doubt a little less clear cut.
